The credits have rolled on this year’s Eastleigh Film Festival (EFF), which gave almost 600 people the opportunity to experience drive-in cinema at Itchen Valley Country Park.
With three nights of film under the stars, Eastleigh Film Festival’s first ever drive-in edition gave residents from the Borough and further afield a chance to experience a unique night of movie-watching from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles.
Kicking off with ‘80s classic comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off as chosen by the public in our ‘Audience Presents’ World Cup, this year’s festival also screened Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster Jurassic Park and Sam Raimi’s comedy horror sequel, Evil Dead 2.
As current COVID-19 guidelines meant that this year’s festival would look a little different from our usual format of screening films in quirky, matching locations, we were delighted to be able to work with Itchen Valley Country Park once again to ensure that it was still able to go ahead in some form.
Positive audience feedback from the festival includes:
'It was our first drive-in experience and we loved it!'
‘Absolutely brilliantly organised’
‘We loved the experience, felt very safe too. Thank you.’
‘Thank you, it was a brilliant event. We would love to attend more.’
From all of us here at Eastleigh Film Festival and The Point, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended for your support and we hope to see you again soon!
