Eastleigh Film Festival will return for 2020 with its first ever drive-in cinema at Itchen Valley Country Park.
Audiences will be able to enjoy cult cinema from the comfort and safety of their own cars across three nights on Saturday 12th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September.
This year’s full line-up of titles will be announced very soon when film fans will have the chance to curate the ‘Audience Presents…’ night by voting for their favourites in the #EFFWorldCup, which will pit four iconic cars and films against each other.
Since the inaugural festival in 2014, screenings have taken place at unique and unusual locations across the borough with highlights from previous years including Top Gun at Southampton Airport, Hot Fuzz at Eastleigh’s police station and a string of horror films in the woods of Itchen Valley Country Park.
This year’s Eastleigh Film Festival Drive-In returns to the park’s beautiful surroundings and has been designed to be as safe as possible whilst still providing a memorable cinematic experience for all attendees.
The Point’s Artistic Director Sacha Lee says: “We’ve been wanting to include a drive-in event as part of Eastleigh Film Festival, and now we can! We are of course saddened not to be working closely with lots of Eastleigh businesses and organisations this year in finding new fun and quirky screening spaces, but we're thrilled to be continuing our brilliant partnership with Itchen Valley Country Park to bring an unforgettable drive-in experience that will not disappoint – and you get to choose too in our Audience Presents vote! We’re looking forward to welcoming our festival audiences back.”
Audiences who attended last year’s festival said: “Such a great idea! All the family were excited because it was an unusual event for them.”
“Fantastic event, we loved watching a horror film in the middle of the woods!”
