Film Expo South

Created to provide participants with an insight into the rapidly evolving industry, Film Expo South premiered at the Ageas Bowl in February of this year. Founder and CEO Gillian Tully has her own understanding of the industry as an actress and auteur, having worked across film, theatre and television.

Through Film Expo South Gillian shares her knowledge with you, giving aspiring filmmakers, writers, producers, cinematographers - and more - crucial information, collaborating with professionals of the trade to host workshops.

We spoke to Gillian about her work with Film Expo South, and why the Careers and Industry Day shouldn't be missed. You can read the full interview here

24-hour Short Film Screenings

The past two Eastleigh Film Festivals have seen the creation of short films, produced, directed and edited by teams of local filmmakers. This year, we have shaken things up to introduce the 24-hour Short Film Challenge. Charged with delivering a film that is no longer than 8 minutes, and created in no more than 24-hours, we are calling all movie enthusiasts to produce an original piece of film, to be screened at the Industry Day.

Between 12am-“5pm, The Point will transform its Conference Room into a mini cinema, showcasing the entries, with the winner announced at the end of the day. Come along, have your say, and you might just see something truly inspiring.
Careers Day

During our 2015 event, 90 young people aged between 15 to 18 years old, interested in a career in film, joined us at our Careers Day which offered the chance to hear from industry professionals and take part in practical workshops.

This year's event will give more young people, passionate about the moving image, the opportunity to gain an insight into the field from industry experts, see an array of short works - as part of the inaugural 24-hour Short Film Challenge - from local filmmakers, and network with like-minded people.

With 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, 4/5 from Hey U Guys, and a plethora of critical acclaim, this is an exclusive opportunity to see this applauded film in the presence of the filmmaker.
