Director: Terence Fisher
Certificate: PG
Running time: 85 minutes

Christopher Lee plays an Ancient Egyptian Prince, inadvertently awoken by a group of British Archaeologists in Terence Fisher's 50's hammer horror.

Why we love it:

It's been adapted and imitated many times since, but Fisher's entry is one any critic would recommend seeking out as Christopher Lee has a ball as the titular antagonist.

The film is tremendous fun, too. With a Golden Age gloss and epic score, Fisher's movie has inspired countless remakes, reboots and film franchises, as Hollywood does its best to recapture its essence. The film wouldn't be the same without the inimitable performance of Hammer Horror legend Lee, who earlier played Dracula, and would go on to become an icon of the genre.

Feel the fear as we screen this atmospheric classic at The Point.
